Maybe we should clarify what is a "free" website and what is a "paid" website. A free website builder, as you put it, is not exactly what people mean when talking about 'free websites'. I have my domain and my hosting and I use either WordPress (a free script) or PSPad (a free html editor) to make/create sites. So, are they free or paid? The usual meaning of 'free website' is a site where you don't pay for hosting and/or it is created on their domain.
